Writers Groups – Cornwall
It may look like a tranquil group of women ready to take on a sewing project for the autumn, but instead it was the New Art Examiner’s monthly writing meeting held in Penzance. Though only 8 this time, writers came from Cornwall, the Seychelles and the US. Topics included land art/environmental art, Ayn Rand, the Lost Library Book, Robert Borlase Smart, The Children Act, recycled artwork for the disposable age and Seamus Moran at the Penwith Gallery in St Ives. Book your flight in time to come to our next meeting on 10 November; lunch is offered by the magazine.

Could you please tell me when and where the next writer’s meeting will be held in Penzance? Is it open to anyone?
The next writers’ meeting is on Saturday, January 12 from 2 to 4 pm at the Redwing Gallery in Penzance on 36a Market Jew St, TR18 2HT. You are invited to come along and read a 250 word piece you have written about a show or theme that interests you positively or negatively in the local and international art world. We work toward publishing a piece in the magazine.
Will there be another Penzance writers group meeting soon?
We hope so. I talked to Redwings and they are fully open now so we will arrange one for September.
24th September 1.30 pm at Redwing Gallery (upstairs gallery). Please bring 250-500 words on a piece of art you dislike.
